Huh. Does It Really Look Like Me??
My daughter is very artistic and we are very encouraging of this hobby.
The other night, to, I think, thank me for not sending her to bed early for doing something bad…oh yeah, it was that she has a small rubber ball that I told her must stay put away when she is not playing with it because I don’t want Benji to get a hold of it and possibly choke on it (yes, I am totally paranoid on things that can be choked on and this one is particularly fearsome to me because I took care of a very unfortunate child who was left in a vegetative state because of one of these small rubber balls) and she didn’t and Benji had it and I went crazy.
Then, I calmed down, and told her that she could play until bedtime (but I was still throwing the ball away as that was the initial agreement for her to keep it in the first place).
So, she brings me my portrait.

I say, “Wow, Mina, that looks great, but those lips are a little big aren’t they?” I squinted my eyes a little, cocked my head to the side and looked at her.
She did the same to me. With her cocked head and eyes squinted, she said, “But mommy, your lips are big.”

Huh. I squinted my eyes a little more and pursed my big lips, but before I could reply, she said in an exasperated tone, “Mommy? Have you LOOKED in a mirror??!”
I took a deep breath and my stinkeye (or stinkface, I guess) broke into laughter.
Mina started laughing, too, “Well, have you??”
I said, “Yes, Mina, I have.” (I didn’t tell her that now I have no desire to).

Holy crap! I can’t stop laughing!!! And I ADORE that picture of her when she was younger. That is way too cute!
Seriously, your lips are not THAT big. But I think Mina has a future as one of those people that draws caricatures at Six Flags.

OMG! This is so funny! It reminds me of when Kai told me I had a “square face” when I get angry! He said, “you’re mad” and I said, “No, I’m not”. He says, “Yes, you are.” Then I say, “How can you tell?” His answer… “You’re face looks square and your face turns into a square when you are mad.” He is right! Your lips, however… they are full, not BIG!
LOL!! I’ve never seen your face angry, but I’m sure it’s a beautiful shape whatever it is!! I hate it when Mina slaps me back into reality when I’m trying my best to stay in denial!
